 Commissioner Frene Ginwala submitted the report to President Thabo Mbeki of the Republic os South Africa at the National Assembly of South Africa in Capetown. Present were a number of South African ministers and parliamentarians, including Vice President Jacob Zuma. Sadako Ogata, Co-Chair of the Commission sent a video message to the President as she was not available to attend the ceremony.
The President welcomed the completion of the Commission's work and stressed the need to further publisize its conclusions within the Africa region, thereby generating public discussions on human security.
